First show of 2019 for me tomorrow. Judas Priest's only headlining show in Europe in at least the first half of the year, in Paris.
Is there a better way to start the year?

My favourite bar is closing this weekend so I’m gonna close it out with a bunch of sleezy indie bands
I got a ticket to Cryptopsy and Aborted for Friday but I’ll likely bail after Cryptopsy to go to said bar instead

Slowly adding more to the winter schedule. This year is weird though. There are tons of tours happening... by all the active bands I don't care about. Meanwhile most of the ones I do are really quiet.
June 20-23 - Graspop Metal Meeting 30 - Demons & Wizards
July 16 - Wino
August 05 - Iron Maiden 07 - Iron Maiden 14 - Queensryche 29 - Operation:Mindcrime 31 - Blaze Bayley
September 15 - Ayreon 29 - King's X 30 - Fireball Ministry
October 05 - Assassin's Creed Symphony 10 - Alice Cooper 14 - Lindsey Stirling 22 - Life of Agony 26 - Annihilator 29 - Opeth
November 21 - The Classical Spectacular 27 - Sacred Reich 30 - Amon Amarth

So it looks like, even though The Obsessed have cancelled all 30 European shows through June, July, and August for undisclosed "unavoidable" reasons, they're still going to play the handful of UK dates, which means I'll see the Wino acoustic show week after next, after all.

London finally got a date confirmed on the Cavalera tour!
Also, there's some Brooklyn Lager sponsored tour happening headlined by Madball. Tickets are £5, including a can of beer and an item of tour merch. I think I'll have some of that too.
Oh, and Blaze Bayley confirmed to headline Burr Fest next year, playing an all-Maiden set.

Another last-ish minute decision to go see Rage next Saturday.
Turns out that although the rest of the European tour is a co-headline with Serenity - who are boring AF - the London date is a proper Rage headliner, with Savage Messiah as special guests, and Serenity reduced to openers. That's far more palatable.
Inversely, I've checked out the unnecessary number of support acts on the Vader tour, and they all suck, so I'm not bothering with that one just to see them squeeze 60 minutes in at the end of the night.

but shows that I actually have tickets for:
April 10th and 11th: Covenant Festival (Adversarial, Phobocosm, Hellfire Deathcult, Auroch, Azothyst, Subterrenea, Profanatica, Sortilegia, Oblivion Worship, Profane Order, Akyros Expanse, Neverlur) April 25th: Napalm Death, Aborted, Tombs and WVRM May 21st - 24th: Maryland Death Fest XVIII (I have no idea who I'm going to see but I will be trying my best to catch Frizzi 2 Fulci, Suffocation, Panzerfaust (local homies), Fuck the Facts, Dismember, Necrophobic, Archgoat and Nunslaughter) June 20th: Swans July 2nd - 4th - I probably won't make it out alive: Destroying Texas Fest 16 (Adorior, Ares Kingdom, Black Witchery, Cenotaph, Hellvetron, Impure, Mortem, Nekro Drunkz, Nexul, Ritual Genocide, Unholy Lust, Weregoat and six more bands who have yet tp be announced)
I'm probably going to say the wrong thing to the wrong person at the show in July and that will be the last you'll see of me

Seems like everything is getting postponed or cancelled. It's crazy town right now but I have a feeling it's more about venues and business entities not wanting to be legally liable in case something does go wrong. Wait and see for anything and everything I guess.

Wait and see for anything and everything I guess. My next show isn't until the end of April and hopefully the situation will have improved. I was worried about Rammstein having to postpone, but that is way in August and they bring enough pyro to destroy any virus

Yeah MDF is close enough that I’m a little worried, since half the bands come from Europe

UK is the exception and it's for 30 days, so end of May falls outside of that (for now).

Actually, Lichtenstein is included.
Croatia, Bulgaria, Russia, Ukraine, Turkey, Israel, Serbia, and a few really tiny ones, are not.

It seems like everything on earth is cancelled but there are still smaller shows going on out there so here’s a question.
Are you considering going to more local or smaller shows to see bands in the metal realm you would not ordinarily see just to get your concert “fix” or are you saving up for what sounds like is gonna be a fucking overload of shows going into the summer/fall?
Maybe it’s a chance to see new bands who need the support.

I seem to do nothing but small and local shows so until Napalm Death at the end of April I’m fine.
