First off, let me say, I'm both horrified and honored this sub forum is named after me. I consider myself one of the least politically learnt people. I guess I wanted to start a thread because like I mentioned to Maideneer in my message asking him about this because the world we live in is very different from the one in the Metalsetlists prime of 2005, where the hot topic was "how are we gonna throw eggs back at Sharon?"
We actually had people of all political persuasions on the old board, which was also a reason why politics was taboo, as some people would take it too far. But there's maybe 5 or 6 regular posters here, so it seems like things might be more civil. If it turns out they won't, then I'm sure this whole thing will be closed up and we'll never speak of it again, just like lots of things I've done. I'm just tired of the ridiculously far left politics of the Metal-archives forum and the ridiculously far right politics of some other shitposting forums I visit.
I suppose my opening topic will be something in Ravenheart's neck of the woods: the supposedly unjust imprisonment of Tommy Robinson.

The right wing, shit stirring cunt who's too afraid to even use his real name? Former mouthpiece of the most racist political party in England? Nothing is unjust there.
He's also a fucking idiot. He's in prison for literally not understanding the law he broke, or what would/could happen as a result.

I've also heard people respond that he's in prison on more of a technicality law, i.e. this is a closed trial, we don't want any outside sources streaming on it, which is fine. The thing I hear about constantly in Europe is the "rapefugee crisis" with the culprits supposedly being a bunch of Syrian/Muslim men, to the point where in the UK there's lots of rumors swirling around about child grooming gangs. Ravenheart, I'm sure you hear about this alot, but I'm wondering how much truth there is to it?

I mean, if my name were Stephen Christopher Yaxley-Lennon, I'd probably use a different name too.
It's not really a technicality. I mean, sure, it ain't murder, but in the cases of trials for things like grooming, which that one was, the things he was doing (and he knew full well what he was doing) can literally jeopardise the trial to the point where the defendant can get off because the process has become prejudiced. That's why he himself isn't protesting or campaigning against his incarceration, because it was explained to him what the effect of his actions could have been, and he accepted that. It's only his slow-witted followers who are protesting.
Honestly, I had to Google "rapefugee". Yeah, there are occasionally cases of rape gangs, and yes it's usually young men from backgrounds like India and Pakistan, but not Muslim specifically, and we don't really have Syrian refugees here. Germany does, maybe it's a bigger problem there. Also typically, the rape gangs here aren't immigrants, they're locals. It's not a huge epidemic here at all.
Grooming gangs is a thing too, but again, not massive. Child pornography rings are more of an issue. Still not a "crisis", like we're somehow the centre for child sex crime, but it's more common than the rape gangs thing, and it's typically white people too.

Well he's out:
Side note: Tucker Carlson has the most chair slammable face this side of Mitch McConnell.

Is anyone intending to read the new Bob Woodward book about Trump?

No.
a) I don't read books. That sounds pathetic but honestly, it's because I have toddler twins lol, reading a book is out of the question. b) I trust no one in the media c) everyone and their mother is concocting stories about Trump to get their book sales up, because they know negative attention is winning these days. Opportunists all of them, especially at the expense of derailing an admin
I'm a Trump defender (for the most part) because while he has a big mouth, a public speaking style I don't care for, and a hiring track record that is absolutely abysmal, I want the guy to do well and he's gotten a lot done I agree with and some things I don't like.
If there's one thing in this world he understands, it's media and ratings and he's built for it. He is the Master Troller of all, and I absolutely LOVE seeing the establishment, corrupted media, and swamp dweller appointees freak out because they are SO not used to this.
If Trump ever left Twitter...it's bankrupt city for them lol.
I think people place far too much importance on what he tweets and does all day. People's lives are NOT meant to be revolved around government like this all day, it was meant to be the complete opposite here...but the hydra has grown so large and so all encompassing, it's become a daily focus for far too many. Anger anger anger is all you see, division, people at each other's throats (literally) and it just keeps getting worse. There isn't a government employee on earth that can stem that tide, it's cultural, but they can certainly make things worse and they have, without exception.

Not sure you can really call Bob Woodward an "opportunist".
I am interested in what you think Trump has accomplished in office that's good though.

Everyone is an opportunist...it's DC.
I guess I opened myself up to all this by commenting but let me just stop short now while I can, I find this stuff really divisive and I've turned really sour to the whole thing lately. But people seem to strangely want to get angry nowadays and I'd rather save myself from a stroke out.

Is it just me or is the Jeffrey Epstein didn't kill himself meme getting old? Between Ricky Gervais and the video of the one guy saying it during the "Tequila" song I'm kinda bored of it.

The Dems are conspiring to screw Bernie and pick Biden, exactly like I told Jackson they would last year. They're handing Trump his second term.

All politicians, especially at the national level are dishonest, backstabbing scumbags who are only in it for their self interests. They don't make it as far as they do by being upstanding people.
