I've been to a lot of shows. I don't call them all "concerts" because I've seen more bands play at bars than I have Skydome or the Air Canada Center.
Since 1995 I've been to two hundred and fifteen "shows". Over a hundred of those have been in the last three years. I keep track of anything so I decided to see how many bands I've seen over the course of all those shows.
Once: 1. 1349 2. 3 3. A Perfect Circle 4. Aborted 5. Abyss 6. Action Bronson 7. Adult. 8. Aeon 9. Agalloch 10. Alice Cooper 11. Alice in Chains 12. All-American Rejects 13. Amnesia Scanner 14. Five Times: 479. Enslaved
Six Times: 480. Harms Way 481. Napalm Death
Eight Times: 482. Bon Jovi
It feels like more but I guess that's it. I thought I'd only seen Bon Jovi seven times and was only a couple shows away from having a band surpass them but I guess I did my math wrong the last time I did this and they're still ahead of anyone else. But it's safe to say I'll be seeing Napalm Death or Harms Way live before I see Bon Jovi again.
And yeah, a lot of those are underground Ontario metal bands that no one is ever going to hear about.

First show I saw: the Tea Party and Econoline Crush sometime in late-December 1995 at the Oshawa Civic Centre in Oshawa, Ontario
Last show I saw: Haggus, Grotesque Organ Defilement, Truth of All Death, Paleolithic Brain Surgury a week or two ago at some bar in Toronto, Ontario
Next show I plan on seeing: I'm going to see some band called Mortuary Drape this Saturday but I may go see a few other bands this Friday depending on my wifes schedule.
Best band I ever saw: I like to say it's Mr. Bungle, but that was in 1999 and it was the tenth of fifteenth show I ever went to. I've seen hundreds of bands since so who knows how they'd stack up now? But I don't want to relive it so I can continue to say they're the best band I ever saw live.
Worst band I ever saw: I've seen my fare-share of bad local acts. One that always sticks out was the Oracle. But it was moreso bad luck on their part. They were really young and it was probably their first show opening for Amorphis, Samael and Virgin Black. But I'll never forget when their singer/guitarist broke a string, then panicked to get it fixed as they kept playing, then when he got his guitar back his strap broke and the look of utter defeat on his face. Pallbearer were pretty bad too. As were Tombs, who played at the same show as Pallbearer.
Band that took me the longest to see: I've been listening to Max Caveleras projects since 1994 and I never saw him or any of his associated acts until a couple of months ago when I saw him do "Soulfly plays Nailbomb" a few months ago.
Bucket List Bands: I really want to see Pearl Jam some day. And even though Max hasn't played with them for twenty years and their new music is terrible now I'd like to see Sepultura. I'd also like to see Iron Maiden as long as it's on a weekend and indoors. I'd like to see the Misfits with Glenn Danzig singing but I'm not paying two hundred dollars to see them. I saw Doyle do some Misfits songs with Danzig the one time I saw Danzig and that'll have to do.

First show I saw: Aerosmith & The Black Crowes, Vorst National (Brussels).
Last show I saw: Golden Earring, Oktoberhallen, Wieze.
Next show I plan on seeing: The Metalday @ Lokerse feesten (see my signature)..
Best band I ever saw: Motörhead @ Rock Zottegem 2008. It was my first time seeing them, still one of the best concert sounds I've ever experienced. Lemmy was in a good mood and when he said "best audience on the tour so far", you could feel he meant it.
Worst band I ever saw: Testament. I still get tinnitus when thinking of that show. The Many Moons: a boring mix between The Cure , Joy Division & The House of Love. They made like 3 albums in 20 years... Type O Negative: the second worst live sound ever. I could recognize maybe 2 songs...
Band that took me the longest to see: Metallica. Been a fan since 1997 or so, I first saw them seven years later @ Rock Werchter.
Bucket List Bands: Pearl Jam, Epica, Alter Bridge, Sepultura, Judas Priest, Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds, QOTSA, PJ Harvey, Slayer & Rammstein.

Yeah... They've skipped Belgium this year... "No Belgian date" is a standard phrase in EU touring.

First show I saw- November 11th, 2001 Family Values Tour with Stone Temple Pilots, Linkin Park, Staind, Static X and Deadsy- Being a big Korn fan at the time I thought that they would be on this tour, but no dice. Still Linkin Park, Staind and Static-X were some bands I dug at the time and they were great
Last Show I Saw- Sleep; biggest contact high I've ever gotten. But Sleep was awesome
Next Show- Havok (2nd time this year)
Best Band- Really Hard to pick but I'd go with Iron Maiden in 2008 on the Somewhere in Time tour; a very close 2nd would be Judas Priest earlier this year
Worst Band- Deadsy in the aforementioned first show; the singer I believe is the nepew of Cher hence getting the slot. Sounded like cows getting sodomized
Band that took longest to see- Slayer. I got into them in 2006 but didn't see them until 2010.
Bucket list bands- Rammstein, Sepultura

First show I saw- Deep Purple at the Cliffs Pavilion Theatre in Southend in 2002. They'll never play places that small again.
Last Show I Saw- Supersonic Blues Machine in London with Billy F. Gibbons.
Next Show- Iron Maiden in Manchester (the first of four Maiden shows in six days, and the final four shows of the 2018 tour)
Best Band- Fuck knows. Several have been super consistent, like Maiden, Overkill, etc. Certain ones had that "holy fuck" impact the first time I saw them. Opeth was like that, believe it or not.
Worst Band- Countless terrible openers. The really terrible metalcore band I saw opening for The Duke at the Borderline in London 12+ years ago probably still holds the honour though.
Band that took longest to see- Without previous opportunities, probably Goatsnake. With previous opportunities that I somehow missed or skipped, Twisted Sister, because I was convinced I didn't like them. Took right up until the last few shows of their retirement tour to finally bother watching them and realised I'd fucked up. Made sure to see them twice more in the next two months.
Bucket list bands- Danzig, Trans-Siberian Orchestra in North America (they don't bring the full show to Europe), Bruce Springsteen

I gave up keeping track. I've seen far too many bands and bands at shows who were "big" but I had no idea who they were (don't you love when bands never introduce themselves?).

The only time I ever saw a band legit get boo'd off stage was in 1997.
Primus was touring with Limp Bizkit and Powerman 5000 as support. You have to understand this was a couple years before Nookie came out and Limp Bizkit became the anomaly they became. Nu-metal was new at the time and was the really cool underground shit. So I think there was a large number of people at that show to see them rather than Primus. It was in a medium-sized venue in Toronto called the Warehouse that probably held two thousand people.
It was also the days before the internet.
I never found out "why" but as people entered the venue posted on the door was a handwritten notice that neither Limp Bizkit or Powerman 5000 were not going to be playing that show. So people were pissed as they entered.
The fill-in band was Finger Eleven, who went on to big things in the mid-2000's but at that time were just starting out. Previously they had been known as the Rainbow Butt Monkeys and they had just changed their name and image from hard-rock to nu-metal. They still played Rainbow Butt Monkeys songs though. They really weren't popular even in Ontario but people knew who they were.
Needless to say it could have been almost anyone that night, it just happened to be them. They ended up playing four songs and were boo'd so heavily that the singer literally just said "fuck this" and they left.

It had already been going for a few years here in the states by that point. I've seen Mudvayne, Chivelle and Butcher Babies get booed. Mudvayne and BB was because they were terrible. Combine that with being in front of the wrong crowd neither band had a chance. Mudvayne was opening for Ozzy and Rob Zombie back in like 2001 or 2002. They were doing the whole body paint gimmick at that time and their songs sucked so they got booed pretty good but finished the set. I'm guessing that's not the first or last time that happened to them on that tour. Butcher Babies back in maybe 2013? They opened for Danzig. They finished the set but people were booing and yelling for them to get off the stage. When a couple of hot chicks can't keep the attention of a 90 percent male audience you know they suck. They whole hot strippers singing angry metal is too fake and everyone saw through it. Chivelle was at an Ozzfest or Mayhem fest probably about ten years ago. I was actually wandering around checking out the merch when it happened so I could hear it but didn't see it. Some people in the crowd were doing something that pissed them off. They stopped playing and the singer talked some to the crowd about knocking it off or they're leaving which was meet by a ton of boos. They started playing again and booing got worse so they walked off and that was it for them. Kind of wish I saw what happened since they didn't get the audience to side with them I wonder if they got pissed at something stupid and blew it out of proportion. But at least it was a band I had no interest in that got booed off stage.

They were terrible but just because their music is terrible. I was expecting miscues, out of tune and mistakes galore but they played their terrible music competently. It was 2016 so they’d had lots of time to practice by then.

You could tell there was no sincerity in what the ladies were doing. Especially the dark haired chick who I think posed for playboy. She may be a metal fan but the angry vocals are just so fake. It's not hard to see through the whole act live. At least they give the guys something to look at on stage which is probably the main reason they stick around.

Fonz, live streams don't count. Yes, technically you did "see" them play live. But I can look up a live video of anyone on YouTube or play a live DVD and claim I saw them play live. Not quite the same thing as being there though.
