Watched over the last few days:
300: Rise of An Empire Really liked the idea of this being set before, during, and after the first 300 movie. Not as good as that one of course, but still enjoyed it.
John Wick Pretty good. Not much new in terms of plot besides some of Wick's back story, but a good version of that plot nonetheless. Keanu Reeves is still a shit actor.
Rogue One Only failing here for me is the lack of good characters. Loved K-2SO, but everyone else was flat and boring. Half of them didn't even really need to be in the movie. I was quite OK with the CGi of Governor Tarkin, but thought the same treatment of Leia, even for that split second, was crap. Enjoyed all the links and references to other story points from the other films, and was pretty content with how it filled in some of the stuff which was just presented as matter of fact in A New Hope with no explanation.
Pirates of The Caribbean: Salazar's Revenge As I mentioned in the 2017 Movies thread, this is basically the same film as all the others. Just a different treasure and a different supernatural villain. But a more coherent movie than the last one, and lots of good laughs. Plus, it has zombie sharks. Zombie. Sharks.
Also rewatched Fanboys, Sucker Punch, Ender's Game, and Thor. Still like all of them.

Powers season one.
The stupid accents Sharlto Copley and Noah Taylor are putting on are really distracting and make them seem like worse actors than they really are. But Jesus Christ Olesya Rulin O.O

Star Trek Beyond Good fun, but obvious that the plot was written by someone who has barely written anything before.
Hell Or High Water Really good all round. Tidy plot, good acting by everyone. Would be nice if Jeff Bridges didn't feel the need to mumble and slur everything when he takes rolls Tommy Lee Jones would have otherwise done the same with, but nevertheless, strong stuff. And a good many jokes too.

I watched Final Fantasy XV: Kingsglaive tonight. I was avoiding it because I wasn't behind Squares multimedia attempt/blatant cash grabbing behind Final Fantasy XV. But it was ten dollars on Bluray so why not?
It's not a bad movie. The big thing I take away from it though is why couldn't it have been worked into the game? I mean yeah, because money and stuff. But this covers the first hour or so of Final Fantasy XV's weak ass story and made everything make a little more sense. At least it answered the lingering questions early on of "why" and "what the fuck"? I wouldn't have minded even if Final Fantasy XV had a half an hour cutscene kicking the game off so to include this. Maybe even a duel storyline with the game as it is mixed in with Nyx Ulrics storyline towards the beginning.
+ Ardyn is really great in his limited role and they used the same voice actor from the game + the introduction battle is very cool + Nyx isn't bad, I kept thinking he was based off Jai Courtney but he wasn't + Ultros from Final Fantasy VI is in it and is badass + Sean Bean is in it and plays the King (although I don't think he voiced him in the game) and you know...Sean Bean...how does it always end? - Lena Headey voicing Lunafreya, she didn't in the movie and whenever I see or hear her (Headey) I just put my thumb and middle finger on my temples and sigh. I'm not a fan - explains the earlier portions of the game better but still not the latter portions - character turns are cliche - supporting characters are weak and inconsequential + or - the cast of the game is not in it, kinda wanted to see them but kinda glad I didn't + or - the final battle was cool visually but confusing mentally
Overall I'm glad I watched it and it makes me want to play the game more. But I don't have the urge to explore the storyline any more.

Status Quo at Wacken
Poor guys, the crowd are having none of it.
Edit: They woke up for "In The Army Now" because they think Quo are covering Sabaton. Plebs.

Finally gotten around to starting Walking Dead. That first episode, man. It's a great pilot but this show requires patience to watch. For better or worse the slow build is their main thing.

Only watched the first two episodes so far, but most of the other characters are a bigger problem than the pace... so far. I only really like Andrew Lincoln and Steven Yeun.

Finished season 1. Apart from that amateur hour explosion at the end, pretty much loved it. Clearly only half a season though. Now starting on season 2.
How does Laurie Holden manage to be so annoying in absolutely everything?

Got to the end of season 2. I can see where the slowing down of the plot could start to bore people. Still enjoyed this season, and the last episode was great. Probably going to stop there for a while and watching something else. Don't want to burn out on it.

Probably going to stop there for a while and watching something else. Don't want to burn out on it. season 3 and the first half of 4 were a high point of the show to me. I did enjoy season 1 lots, especially the first episode. Season 2 had its moments. It was a slow burn and I can see how people got frustrated waiting week to week for it to go somewhere, rather than you or me who were able to burn through it at their chosen pace. That barn scene was pretty epic, as was Shane and Rick's fight.

I've had others say season 3 is the one which drags the most. But I'm going to leave it for now. Might start on Z Nation next. Or season two of Game of Thrones, since I'm decades behind on that as well.

X-Men: Apocalypse
She looked great, but Jesus Christ Sophie Turner's performance was horrible in this.
Earlier this weekend I watched 'Rememory', Peter Dinklage's new movie that was released for free on Google Play on Thursday, The Double (the Richard Gere and Topher Grace one), and Taken 3, all of which were pretty good.

I recently watched the Netflix series Castlevania, it was fooking awesome and I recommend it highly Fucking right! Only four episodes but god damn it was crazy awesome. Hopefully it doesn't take long for season 2. I just finished my third watch of Breaking Bad. I pick up on new things every time, and this time I realized that I don't hate Skylar as much as I thought I did and that Walt Jr is the real victim here.

I was so caught up in the tension between Walt and Skylar/Jesse/Hank that I never really thought about how Jr was going to be affected by all this in the long run. Poor kid's in for a tough life.

Recently finished Z Nation season 3, The Strain season 3, and Ballers seasons 2 and 3. Now moved on to Legends of Tomorrow season 2.
Movie wise, re-watched stuff like Rogue One, The Force Awakens, Captain America: Civil War, Guardians of The Galaxy, etc. Not really seen any movies for the first time recently.

Jurassic World
It’s really a terrible movie. Is Ron Howard’s daughter wearing a wig?
